Public Safety wages are 30k-40k more than City of Chula Vista Professional Positions


Entry level positions in Public Safety do not require any college degree but receive better salaries than City of Chula Vista employees whose positions requires either a Bachelors’ Degree or a Masters’ Degree

– City of Chula Vista Librarian I position requires an applicant/employee to traditionally have an MLS (Masters in Library Science)


The salary range for position is:

– City of Chula Vista Peace Officer- does not require a college degree. 


The salary range for position is: 

• $6,276.88 - $7,629.59 Monthly or $75,322.52 - $91,555.10 Annually¹⁸ 


• Job description does require candidates to have the “ability to read books”.¹⁸


• Both City of Chula Vista Police and Fire Employees receive specialty pay for having an Associates Degree 

(2yr Degree).
